    Fuel the Diversity Converstion

    October 10th, 2009

October is National Coming Out Month and to celebrate, Out for Business (OFB) is sponsoring a series of personal stories about diversity/coming out in the workplace.

We are looking for both gay and straight contributors from students and faculty.

The bit can be long or short, about you or someone else, named or anonymous talking about dealing with coming out at work, being in the closet at work, finding out a coworker was LGBT (and how you dealt with that, for better or for worse) or just the general power of diversity.

If you are interested in learning more or you have a paragraph to share, please contact Amy Maier (maier3@wisc.edu). Deadline: October 14

    Consortium Club October Meeting

    October 10th, 2009
    When: Wednesday, October 14, 2009
Time: 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm (Brown Bag Lunch Meeting)
    Location: 3325 Grainger Hall

The October general body meeting will be dedicated to a discussion on diversity and will be the kick-off of the Consortium Club’s name change initiative.

A leading goal for our organization this academic year is to increase membership and enhance diversity initiatives and address diversity issues within the Wisconsin School of Business. Based on surveyed results, a major concern and barrier to this has been the impression of exclusivity that the current name of the organization presents to our community at large. To address this concern, we would like your thoughts on a new name for the organization. Join us in an open and rich dialogue on the history if the Consortium Club, its role in diversity, and the best way to preserve the legacy of the organization within a new name. ALL MBA students are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Any questions about the event can be directed to Kari Caesar (caesar@wisc.edu). Hope to see you there!
